Telangana Supporters aka Fanatics!

Before i write any further, i want to clearly say what do i mean by Fanatic. A Fanatic is, "someone who can't change his mind and won't change the subject". I completely respect the learned scholars, professors and leaders from Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh. In the past one year, i have read numerous blogs, websites and have had heated discussions with many of my friends and colleagues.

My close friend who is taking part in Telangana Movement says, "We either get Telangana or we cut throats of people who comes in between". I am sure it is only symbolic and definitely he does not mean what he said. However, in the current scenario of people agitating about the statehood of Telangana, people are more or less threatened and scared rather than peaceful negotiations and compromises.

Some of the common patterns of the information all the blogs and websites use are as below.
  • Teangana people are fighting for independence from past 60 years
  • Andhra (Rayalaseema and Kostha) people have looted all our development by taking away Jobs, Water and Power/Electricity
  • None of the agreements made till now are in effective
  • Farmers are dying and normal people are suffering because of Andhra People
  • All our Jobs have been taken over by Andhra People
  • None of the politician will do good for the Telangana. Till data no one has ever done anything.
  • Hyderabad has not developed at all. It was in the same state as Nizams left.
  • Politicians have diverted all the funds to Andhra/Rayalaseema/Kosta region.
All in all, all of the above points that these people talk about are very "ABSTRACT". With that i mean that many of the blogs convey self-pity, oppression from Andhra people and they all deny the fact that Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh has developed.

All these blogs and websites have one simple target that the fellow Telangana people should feel bad about their own condition and get inspired to join the movement. Of course, this is a very good usage of the Media. When i closely look at it they have used every possible channel very effectively.
  • Internet
  • --Web Sites
  • --Blogs
  • --Facebook
  • --YouTube
  • --Google Videos
  • --PGP - for secret communication
  • Story tellers at Villeges
  • Poetry/Poets at Villeges and Towns
  • Teachers at Schools
  • Professors at Colleges
  • NRTs (Non Resident Telangana people)
No wonder that the students from Osmania University were brain washed so much that they just don't want to listen to anyone. KCR is from Osmania University where he has been greatly influencing the students. Also, Telangana Leaders and Intellectuals are very successful in changing the minds of the people that Andhra People are hindrance for their development and the only way they get liberated is "Telangana State".

Unfortunately in all the blogs and websites, there is only one side of the story that is written. The problem is we try to stick on to a Subjective issue and talk hours and hours on that. Also, in the subjective matters, you can neither win nor loose an argument. Let me clarify what i mean by that. If you say "I need 10 rupees" everyone knows what you need "MONEY" and how much you need, "10 units". But if you say, "I need a lot of something", what can someone understand from that ? This single question has TWO sub problems to it. How much is a "LOT" and what is that "SOMETHING". This is what some of the Telangana-Activists say about the development in Telangana region.

No one from the Telanagana activists talk about the actual numbers. This is quite unfortunate. of course, coming up with numbers is difficult for any one except for the Local Leaders, State and Central Government. What does it mean when i say by coming up with numbers ?

You need to compare the following items from the Nizams time (because they say there is no development since then) and NOW in 2009.
  • # of Elementary Schools
  • # of Primary Schools
  • # of Degree Colleges
  • # of Engineering Colleges
  • # of Hospitals
  • # of Irrigation Projects
  • # of Canals for Irrigation
  • # of Local Roads and Highways Built
  • # of Railway Stations
  • # of Buses
  • # of Jobs Created in Rural and Urban Areas
  • # of Industries (Electrical, Electronics, IT, BPO, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Chemical, Textile, etc...) in Rural and Urban Areas
  • # of people Abroad (if people's development was suppressed, no one should have gone abroad)
  • # of Courts
  • # of Police Stations
  • # of Drainage Systems
  • # of Villages to get Electricity
I you ask the above questions, they change the stand saying that, "We have developed but not as good as Andhra people". Well, what does that really mean to me ? Just because you have not developed and you could not influence, you say that i am a Bad Andhra Person, who hampered the development of their own people.

I have seen several videos, in which they show the interiors of Telangana with dry lands, people trying hard for the water, farmers are looking into the sky for rains and all sorts of those things. But these people should see the other side of Coin. They are only seeing "Tails", if you see "Heads", you will know how the interiors of Anantapur, Prakasam and Srikakulam districts are. We can probably make better videos than what they showed in Telangana regions. Again, you can focus on a small region's problem and magnify it 100000 times to show that Telangana region is not developed. But this claim should be supported by STATISTICAL DATA and not by saying, "We got fed up with the government and we need Telangana NOW".

Before i close, The development of the Telangana should not be looked at the sole lack of funds. What did the Politicians do till now ? Telangana Leaders also take the advantage of the %ges whenever they can. They take the Telangana and Andhra regions and say the representation is around 40:60 so, we are not powerful. In the other occasions they will split the Andhra Region to Andhra, Rayalaseema and Kosta for their advantage.

Andhra region people have been focusing on the studies and business for a long time - even before the Andhra Pradesh is formed. Now, is it our mistake that more number of people are highly educated (in Andhra, Rayalaseema and Kosta areas) and get into the Public and Private sectors compared to Telangana people ?

Telangana (and other districts in Andhra region) by the natural geography are on the higher elevation than the delta regions like Gunter and Krishna. Naturally, it is easy for anyone to have good crops and productivity and also for the Irrigation. Till date, i know that many of the mandals in Prakasam district have problems with the water and they don't even have ONE CROP/ Year. So, they resort to the Eucalyptus trees which yields once in every 3 years. Are they supposed to do the same agitation as Telangana region people ? This is the reason that in Andhra also, we have 2 completely different regions of Krishna and Guntur delta which is very fertile and others are barely making it. And who does not know about the Kudapa, Kurnool and Nandyal dry lands ?

Again, i would like to appeal/request/plead to all Telangana-Supporters that "No one is against Telangana State". We need the FACTS and FIGURES to know that there has been Oppression, Repression, Looting, Unethical Practices and In appropriate diversion of Funds and others. This helps is to know Why you want separate State, Why you have so much of hatred towards Andhra People and finally, WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT OUR OWN POLITICIANS AND BUSINESS PEOPLE, IF THEY DID SOMETHING BAD.

Some of the Resources that you should checkout to see how they popularized the Telangana Movement.
